W dniu 5 września gościliśmy delegację Uniwersytetu Musashi (Tokio): dyrektora Biura Współpracy Międzynarodowej, Horikoshiego Toshiakiego oraz prof. Jasona Hollowella, Dyrektora Centrum Edukacji Globalnej. Celem wizyty było sfinalizowanie umowy o współpracy w zakresie wymiany akademickiej i studenckiej (Memorandum of Understanding). Uniwersytet Warszawski reprezentowali w imieniu JM Rektora prorektorzy: prof. Sambor Grucza i prof. Maciej Raś, a także dziekan Wydziału Orientalistycznego, dr hab. Agata Bareja Starzyńska, prof. ucz. oraz dr hab. Józef Pawłowski, prodziekan ds. finansowych WO.

Przedstawiciele Uniwersytetu Musashi (MU) aktywnie uczestniczyli w tegorocznych wydarzeniach naukowych realizowanych przez Uniwersytet Warszawski w kwietniu i lipcu w Japonii w ramach programu NAWA „Kierunek EXPO 2025”. Ponadto 30 czerwca w Tokio zorganizowane zostało spotkanie przedstawiciela Zespołu Koordynacyjnego projektu „UW na EXPO 2025” z ramienia Wydziału Orientalistycznego, dr Katarzyną Starecką, z Rektorem MU, prof. Takahashim Noriyukim i Prorektorem MU, prof. Niiro Takuyą, jak również Dyrektorem Akademii Musashi, prof. Ikedą Yasuo. Na 17 września również w Tokio zaplanowane jest spotkanie władz tej uczelni z dr hab. Iwoną Kordzińską-Nawrocką, prof. ucz., kierownikiem Katedry Japonistyki WO UW.

Początki Akademii Musashi (Musashi Gakuen), w skład której wchodzi Uniwersytet Musashi, a także Liceum i Gimnazjum Musashi, sięgają roku 1922. Od momentu powstania kieruje się ona ideą kształcenia jednostek otwartych na świat, zdolnych do realizacji „narodowego ideału łączenia kultur Wschodu i Zachodu”.

On behalf of Musashi University, I am honored to visit the University of Warsaw to sign our new collaboration agreement. Since the founding of Musashi Gakuen over 100 years ago, we have pursued internationalization as a central mission. In this spirit, we feel both honored and delighted to conclude an agreement with the University of Warsaw, a world-class institution whose distinguished Oriental Studies program has advanced knowledge for more than a century. 

Musashi University has long emphasized the importance of understanding the world as a pillar of our philosophy. This tradition continues today through our renewed focus on the liberal arts and sciences, which provide our students with the tools to think critically, communicate across cultures, and engage with global challenges. Through the promotion of student exchange, faculty collaboration, and joint initiatives, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for our communities to learn from one another. In doing so, we hope to contribute to global understanding and foster the peaceful exchange of ideas across cultures and borders.

We look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship with the University of Warsaw, grounded in shared values of academic excellence, openness, and mutual respect.
