The Annual Meeting of Ambassadors of Asian and African Countries with First-Year Undergraduate and Graduate Students of the Faculty of Asian and African Cultures, University of Warsaw
On 19 January 2026, the thirtieth annual meeting of ambassadors from Asian and African countries was held with first-year undergraduate and graduate students from the Faculty of Asian and African Cultures. The meeting aimed to present the specific characteristics of individual countries, provide students with information on academic cooperation and scholarship opportunities, and enable them to meet diplomats and sample national cuisines.
The meeting was opened by the Magnificence Rector of the University of Warsaw, Alojzy Z. Nowak. Representatives of 26 embassies participated, including 16 ambassadors and chargés d’affaires. The event was attended by the University authorities, Prof. Dr. hab. Ewa Krogulec, Vice-Rector for Development; Prof. Dr. hab. Zygmunt Lalak, Vice-Rector for Research; Dr. hab. Adam Niewiadomski, University Professor, Vice-Rector for Doctoral and Legal Affairs; and Dr. hab. Maciej Raś, University Professor, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Education. Among the guests were also deans and heads of organisational units of the University of Warsaw, as well as representatives of external institutions cooperating with the Faculty.
The Faculty of Asian and African Cultures was represented by the Dean, Prof. Dr. hab. Agata Bareja-Starzyńska; the Vice-Deans, Dr. Magdalena Kubarek and Dr. hab. Józef Pawłowski; heads of departments and divisions, academic advisors, staff members, students, and doctoral candidates.
