Study visit and workshop titled “Middle East Studies in Changing Europe (MESCHANGE)”
On October 5 and 8, 2025 a study visit and workshop titled “Middle East Studies in Changing Europe (MESCHANGE)” of three universities took place at the University of Copenhagen in the frames of the 4EU+ Alliance minigrant obtained by Charles University. The participants discussed opportunities for developing cooperation in the fields of teaching and research within so-called Middle Eastern Studies.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies of the University of Copenhagen, the Department of Middle Eastern Studies of Charles University in Prague, and the Faculty of Asian and African Cultures of the University of Warsaw (formerly the Faculty of Oriental Studies).
Our Faculty was represented by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Agata Bareja-Starzyńska, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Marta Widy-Behiesse from the Department of European Islam Studies, Dr. Anna Sulimowicz-Keruth from the Department of Turkic Studies and Inner Asian Peoples, Dr. Magdalena Pinker from the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Dr. Magdalena Rodziewicz from the Department of Iranian Studies, and Dr. Marta Dudzik-Rudkowska from the Department of Hebrew Studies.
Our partners from Denmark and the Czech Republic will soon visit us at the University of Warsaw.
