On March 27, 2025, a meeting took place at the Tyszkiewicz-Potocki Palace with the students from the Department of Japanese Studies in the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Warsaw, who were selected for internships as staff for the Polish Pavilion at the World Exhibition (EXPO) in Osaka (April 13-October 12, 2025). The interns are Anna Fender, Szymon Góralski, Zofia Jakubiak, Alicja Kobiernik, Aleksandra Mąkólska, Zofia Piskorek, Gabriel Poplawski, Małgorzata Wysmyk, and Alicja Ziembińska.
During the meeting, speeches were given by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Maciej Raś, the Deputy Director of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Ms. Marta Zielińska; the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Prof. Agata Bareja-Starzyńska, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Marta Widy-Behiesse; the Head of the Career Office, Ms. Monika Niepiekło; the internship coordinator, Prof. Agnieszka Kozyra; and the students. The students also had the opportunity to listen to a captivating lecture by the Director of the UW Museum, Prof. Hubert Kowalski, on the period when Frederic Chopin was at the University of Warsaw.
The student interns are eagerly looking forward to a unique adventure in the Polish Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Japan.
