Roozbeh Asadian, a musician from Iran, since the age of 12 has played the kamancheh (fiddle family instrument). Initially, he taught himself to play this unique instrument but later mastered his performance by learning from such masters as Akbar Shekarchi and Ardeshir Kamkar. He entered the Art Tehran University and developed playing Persian music on kamancheh. He has performed in several live concerts on kamancheh with international musicians and recorded CDs including: “Yare Kadim” and “Daricheh” with maestro Ata Jangouk, “Iran my Homeland” with maestro “Mohamad Reza Lotfi”.
After graduating Master of Composition he decided to move to Poland and he continued to study under Professor Marcin Blazewicz at the Chopin University of Music, Warsaw. He is currently working on his dissertation for a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology. Orchestras have also per-
formed his orchestral composition pieces. Besides being a master of kamancheh, he has been practicing the classical violin for the past 10 years.
